AMG Clean Living Water

Do you have running water in your home? Office? School? Do you worry about the safety of the water coming out of your faucet?

  • 6000 children die every day from illnesses that are contracted by drinking unclean water
  • 884 Million people do not have access to clean water
  • Every 20 seconds a child dies from a sickness caused by drinking unclean water
  • Over 3.5 million people die every year from water related illness. Water related illnesses include cholera, dysentery, typhoid, hepatitis and parasites such as the guinea worm and giardia.

The reality is clean drinking water is a necessity of life, yet, it can be cost prohibitive and a logistical nightmare to get clean water to all areas where people live, work and attend school.

There is a pressing need for an effective, affordable and portable option to provide clean drinking water to people living in these areas. There is also a need to provide clean drinking water to people traveling and working in these areas. LifeStraw® offers an inexpensive, easily distributed, portable and easy to use product to bring clean water to areas where none has existed or where disaster has occurred. With no need for electricity or batteries and little maintenance the LifeStraw® units will provide clean water for up to three years.

LifeStraw® provides a point-of-use approach which accelerates the health gains associated with drinking clean water in at risk populations. Many at risk communities must collect their water at a communal site such as a well, borehole, communal tap stand or nearby body of water. This water may or may not have been adequately treated to eliminate waterborne diseases or parasites. The LifeStraw® filters the water at the point and time of use which reduces the risk of contracting a waterborne disease or parasite that was already in the water or introduced to the water during collection, transportation or storage.

Make a difference today and give the gift of clean water to someone who needs it.

LifeStraw® is a portable water filter weighing approximately 5 ounces. It comes with a lanyard for wearing around the neck and provides easy access to clean and safe drinking water away from home. It will filter at least 1000 liters (264 US gallons) of contaminated water, contains no chemicals, requires no electricity, batteries or replacement parts and is easily cleaned by blowing air through the straw. The LifeStraw® is ideal for use by people traveling to areas that do not have clean water as well as for use by residents in areas that do not have access to clean water or whose water has been contaminated due to disaster or treatment plant failure.

Both the LifeStraw® and LifeStraw® Family are approved by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and all raw materials are US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) compliant or equivalent. The LifeStraw® Family filters up to 18,000 liters (4755 US gallons) of water, enough to supply a family of five with clean water for 3 years. The water is filtered instantly as it flows through the pre-filter and purification cartridge. The pre-filter and purification cartridge are easy to clean and there is no need for tools, replacement parts, electricity or batteries.
